Niger Mass Abduction

President Bola Tinubu directed the Armed Forces, Police, DSS, and other agencies to launch a coordinated rescue operation after dozens were abducted in Niger State. He condemned the killings and assured families of government support.

Petrol Price Hike

The NNPCL increased petrol prices at Abuja retail stations from ₦1,250 to ₦1,270 per litre. Other marketers adjusted prices differently, with some selling below NNPCL’s rate and others above ₦1,299.  

 

Dangote Refinery Impact

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported Nigeria’s petroleum exports have risen sevenfold since 2023, driven by the Dangote Refinery.   


National Addressing Framework

Nigeria approved a digital addressing system linking NIMC, CAC, and NIPOST databases to improve planning, security, and financial inclusion.
