Security — Oyo Rescue Mission

After 56 days in captivity, 44 abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire LGA, Oyo State, were rescued on July 10, 2026.

Operation involved the Nigerian Army, DSS, Police, Amotekun, and vigilantes. 

asualties counted were 3 security operatives and 1 teacher killed; several terrorists neutralized, 8 arrested.

Senate honored the fallen heroes and approved ₦50 million donation to bereaved families.

President Tinubu praised the mission as proof of Nigeria’s growing counter-terrorism capacity.
