Russia Expands Military Presence in Arctic

Russia has announced expanded military deployments in the Arctic, citing strategic security interests and resource protection. 


The move includes new bases and advanced weaponry, signaling Moscow’s intent to assert dominance in the region.  


NATO allies have expressed concern, warning that the buildup could destabilize global security and trigger an arms race in the Arctic. 


Analysts on the other hand, note that the region’s vast energy reserves and shipping routes make it a critical geopolitical hotspot.
