Sports: French Open 2026 Kicks Off in Paris

The French Open 2026 has officially kicked off in Paris, marking the start of one of tennis’s most prestigious tournaments on the clay courts of Roland Garros. 


Fans from around the world have gathered to witness thrilling matches as top seeds Novak Djokovic and Iga Świątek lead the field, both aiming to add another Grand Slam title to their illustrious careers.  


The opening day saw packed stadiums and a vibrant atmosphere, with organizers highlighting the tournament’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. 


Djokovic, who is chasing his 25th Grand Slam, enters the competition as a favorite, though rising stars like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are expected to challenge his dominance. 


On the women’s side, Świątek, already a multiple French Open champion, faces strong competition from Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff, promising an exciting battle for the trophy.  


Beyond the competition, the French Open continues to serve as a cultural event, blending sport with French tradition.
