Lagos Residents Protest Rising Transport Fares

Commuters in Lagos staged protests over rising transport fares, blaming fuel scarcity and inflation.

Demonstrators blocked major roads, demanding government intervention to ease the burden on struggling households.

Transport unions argue that fare increases are unavoidable due to higher fuel costs and vehicle maintenance expenses.

However, residents insist that the hikes are excessive and unfair, particularly amid widespread economic hardship.

Authorities have promised to engage stakeholders in dialogue, but tensions remain high as commuters call for immediate relief measures.
