Community Spotlight: Floods Displace Thousands in Niger State


Heavy rains have triggered severe flooding in Niger State, displacing over 10,000 residents and damaging critical infrastructure. 


The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has deployed relief teams to provide shelter, food, and medical assistance.  


Local authorities warn that more rainfall is expected, raising concerns about further displacement and agricultural losses. 


Community leaders have appealed for urgent federal support to rebuild homes and restore livelihoods.  


The floods highlight Nigeria’s vulnerability to climate change and the urgent need for improved disaster preparedness.
